About our 200 hour program
Our yoga teacher training course is designed for modern yoga practitioners seeking new wisdom from ancient yoga knowledge. We have successfully created a teaching program to equip our graduates with the tools and skills to fully immerse themselves into a professional teaching career. This course is ideal for anyone who is seeking a complete career change or simply looking to diversify their skills. Whether you are an experienced yoga practitioner or a curious enthusiast then our course will give you the confidence needed towards a new career. We welcome people to our teacher training program that may not have the “perfect yoga body type”. We are committed to helping you evolve your business skills post our teacher training program. We like to offer our graduates professional development from our very own team of professional teachers.

Why Choose Dancing Warrior Yoga Teacher Training?
Course coordinator Mathew Bergan studied Hatha yoga in Sydney and India and has trained with many of the great teachers over the past 25 years. In addition to Mathew’s yoga training, he also holds of an Advanced Diploma in Sports Massage and integrates into all of his teachings his knowledge of the body learned through 30 years of inquiry into human movement forms.

Limited numbers to ensure you get personalised attention
We limit the class sizes to 16 people to make sure you get personalised attention and the adequate time to learn the skills necessary to be an amazing yoga teacher.  Our small intake means you get more time practicing teaching, honing adjustment skills and interacting with our teaching staff.

Be a part of a powerful and supportive community
DWY is proud of its yoga community dedicated to helping new yoga teachers excel. Many of our YTT students leave our program with new life-long friendships and potential business partners.

Start teaching right away
Gain confidence and overcome your fear by teaching community classes at the studio after you graduate as part of the mentorship program.

Build your yoga resume and get teaching jobs
DWY offers its yoga trainees multiple ways to expand their knowledge beyond 200 hrs. Participate in our 350 hr programs or add teaching to your resume by teaching some of our weekly community classes.

Mathew Bergan Amber Williams

“Thanks for being so patient with us, I know at times it must’ve felt like pulling teeth, particularly on Sunday afternoons when we were all a bit yoga’d-out! You did a great job in keeping our group together and keeping everything on track. You also did a great job in whipping us into shape – my asana practice has improved immensely over the last 5 months and I can see that others have too. Not to mention, spiritually I am in a different place – I have noticed changes in my life that I believe are tied in with the yoga journey I’ve experienced at DWY”.
Jessica Lee – – Teacher training graduate
“I have learned so much from Mathew Bergan and this course has allowed me to grow further into the person I knew I was but just had to rediscover. I really enjoyed the course, Mathew’s teachings and his personal touches on the course, the sequence and the attention he gives to each and every one of us. Mathew is a great teacher and mentor.”
Linda Woelk – Teacher training graduate
“Since discovering Dancing Warrior Yoga, I completed my yoga teacher training there, and continue with the regular class visits. My own yoga practice has grown immensely. I only wish I discovered the school a lot earlier! I feel like all aspects of my yoga practice, my physical poses, breath work and meditation have deepened in a relatively short period of time. I have made some dear friends.”
Jo Hew – Teacher training graduate
“Dancing Warrior Yoga teaching approach is very hands on, literally. You will be thrown in the deep end in the most positive of ways, and nurtured and supported into becoming the best teacher you can be. This studio was a very honest, open minded, encouraging, friendly, remarkable community to develop teaching skills in.”
Jax Cave – Teacher training graduate
“I was surprised at the breadth of the material covered in the course. I have a greater understanding of the history, and the breadth of it as a practice that embraces philosophy, physiology and science. I experienced a very steep learning curve that has left me wanting to learn a whole lot more”.
Lee Wilson – Teacher training graduate
